If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, here’s an easy, feel-good itinerary for a Saturday right on our doorstep — no motorway miles required.
☕ Start your day right
Kick things off with breakfast at Something Special Coffee Shop, tucked inside Birchgrove Garden Centre in Pinchbeck. It’s a local favourite — especially for the homemade cakes (which are obviously calorie-free, right?). Whether you fancy a proper full English or something lighter, you can’t go wrong.
Afterwards, take a wander around Birchgrove itself. Right now, there’s a spooky Halloween House open until 31 October, plus a Pumpkin Hunt for the kids. And if you’re already in festive mode, the Christmas Shop has just opened — it’s packed with decorations, lights, and gift ideas. You’ll also find lovely homeware, garden essentials, and everything from pet food to horse supplies. Plus, don’t miss Santa – he’s arriving in his special grotto from November 29, and there’s Christmas markets crammed with a feast of hand-crafted treats on December 6&7, 13&14.
🛍 Midday: Shopping, Strolling & a Little Festive Magic
Next, head over to Springfields Outlet Shopping & Festival Gardens. You can:

And if you’re already in Christmas mode, make sure to check out the Winter Wonderland Walk 2025 — the perfect family festive experience, returning to Springfields from 13 November to 30 December 2025. Expect twinkling lights, magical displays, and plenty of festive cheer to get you in the spirit.
The shorter 7km (4.5 mile) Leisure Wheel route also starts at Springfields, circling Spalding and taking in both its rural and town landscapes – a perfect mix of local history, horticulture and a bit of peace and quiet. It’s mostly level walking, though it can be muddy in places, so maybe leave the white trainers at home.

Round off your day with dinner at one of Spalding’s best-loved restaurants, Amici. Their menu is packed with homemade Italian dishes, all served in a warm, relaxed setting that works just as well for a romantic meal for two as it does for a fun night out with friends.
