If you’ve ever wished you could bottle joy and sprinkle it on your toughest days, Teresa (Tess) Sanderson might just be the next best thing. Through her business, Find Your Happy Wellbeing, Tess helps people rediscover their spark – one chuckle, deep breath, and heartfelt moment at a time.
Tess’s journey began not with business plans or brand strategy, but from a deeply personal place. After years of feeling dismissed by doctors and struggling with undiagnosed health issues, she finally discovered she was living with Lipoedema, a painful and often misunderstood condition. Burnt out and desperate to find some way to move her body that didn’t make her feel worse, she stumbled across an advert for Laughter Yoga – and it changed everything.
“I was tired, burnt out and at rock bottom. “I needed something that made me feel good. I came across Laughter Yoga, and the rest, as they say, is history.”
From that moment, Tess channelled her own healing into helping others. Today, she runs a vibrant mix of wellbeing and team-building workshops, Laughter Yoga sessions, and mindfulness and meditation experiences designed to get people moving, connecting, and – most importantly – laughing again. Her Find Your Happy Workshops blend yoga techniques, breathwork, playfulness and vision-board activities, alongside a healthy dose of compassion and humour.
She’s worked with everyone from the NHS and housing associations to choirs and corporate teams, and even joined Rev Richard Coles and fellow Laughter Yoga practitioners on Channel 4’s award-winning Good Grief programme. In 2021, her commitment to helping others earned her the title of National Self-Care Champion from the Self-Care Forum.
“I love the joy I see on people’s faces. Almost everyone who takes part feels some kind of shift – whether it’s more energy, relief, or just that beautiful reminder that happiness isn’t something we chase, it’s already inside us.”
Behind the giggles lies serious substance. With a professional background in training, HR and development, Tess brings both warmth and structure to her sessions. As a disabled business owner, she also understands the importance of accessibility and inclusivity, ensuring everyone can take part and benefit equally.
The journey hasn’t been easy – from health challenges and sepsis recovery to rebuilding her business after a move back to Lincolnshire – but Tess’s trademark “bouncebackability” shines through it all.
“It’s been a roller coaster. But I’ve learned how strong and resilient I really am. The same tools that helped me through the toughest times are now helping others find their way too.”
And there’s even more to come. Tess is putting the finishing touches on her new book, The Little Guide to Find Your Happy — a “pocketful of positivity, poems and practices to brighten your day.” It’s due to launch later this month, just in time for Self-Care Week and the festive season.
So if you’re ready to boost your mood, reconnect with yourself, and maybe laugh a little louder than usual, keep an eye on Tess’s socials – or better yet, join one of her sessions and find your own happy.
