Celebrating local life – and the businesses behind it

ikandoo is a South Lincolnshire platform for local business stories, commentary, and community life.

It’s where business meets real life – honest stories, local insight, and thoughtful conversations, without the corporate waffle.

Hey, I’m Tracey — and ikandoo is my love letter to local business and community life here in South Lincs.

After years of writing stories for The Voice and championing small businesses across the area, I started to notice something.

There is a huge amount of talent, creativity, and graft happening locally — but a lot of it goes unseen, unheard, or under-explained. Not because people don’t care, but because small business owners are busy, close to what they do, and often not sure how to talk about it clearly.

ikandoo was created to change that.

At its heart, ikandoo is about people – the humans behind our shops, services, side-hustles, start-ups, and long-established businesses. It’s a place to explore what’s really going on locally, share stories that feel real, and build a stronger sense of connection between the businesses and communities around us.

No corporate fluff.
No PR jargon.
Just real people, doing real things.

Real local. Real people. Real businesses that kandoo it.

What happens on ikandoo

You’ll find a mix of:

  • Business Focus features — simple, local spotlights introducing businesses to the community

  • The Lowdown — commentary, observations, and honest takes on local business life

  • Our digital magazine — a curated snapshot of stories, insight, and community highlights

Alongside this, ikandoo is becoming a place for wider conversation — not just who is doing what, but why it matters, what’s changing, and what it’s really like to run a small business locally.

That commentator role is something I’m leaning into more deliberately, because local business doesn’t exist in a vacuum — it’s shaped by real-world pressures, decisions, and lived experience.

Helping businesses tell their story

As ikandoo has grown, so has the way I work with businesses.

Some people simply want to be featured on the platform — and Business Focus features are a great way to do that.

Others want deeper help getting their business story clear — the kind of clarity that works across websites, bios, and introductions, not just one feature. That’s where the Business Story Intensive comes in.

Both have their place. Both serve different needs. And neither is about hype or hard selling.

Community first, always

Strong communities are built when people support each other.

Alongside local businesses, ikandoo also shines a light on charities, community groups, and grassroots projects doing meaningful work across South Lincolnshire whenever we can.

Because local life isn’t just about commerce — it’s about connection.

So whether you’re here to:

  • discover local businesses

  • read thoughtful commentary

  • get your story featured

  • or finally make sense of how to explain what you do

Welcome.
You’re in the right place.
