Fly-tipping incidents across South Holland have fallen by 12% over the past year, with recorded cases dropping from 2,732 in 2023 to 2,402 in 2024.
This success is the result of a combined effort between South Holland District Council’s Kingdom enforcement team, local volunteers, and vigilant residents who continue to report fly-tipping and take action to keep their communities clean.
The Kingdom enforcement team has played a key role by patrolling the district, raising awareness, and issuing Fixed Penalty Notices to offenders. Alongside this, a council-led communications campaign has helped educate residents about responsible waste disposal and the legal consequences of fly-tipping.
Several areas have seen significant reductions, including:
✅ Crowland and Deeping St Nicholas – down 51%
✅ Pinchbeck and Surfleet – down 33%
✅ Spalding St Mary’s – down 25%
South Holland District Council has praised local volunteers and residents for their ongoing commitment.
Cllr Anthony Casson, Portfolio Holder for Public Protection, said: “This fantastic reduction in fly-tipping proves that our enforcement measures and public awareness campaigns are making a real difference. However, this success wouldn’t be possible without the commitment of our local residents and others who take pride in their communities. Thank you to everyone.”
Despite this positive progress, the council urges residents to stay vigilant and continue reporting fly-tipping incidents via the official website: www.sholland.gov.uk/reportit
