Lincolnshire Police have issued a warning after reports that cats in the Pinchbeck and Kirton areas have returned home with patches of their fur shaved off. The incidents, which appear to involve the use of hair clippers, have caused distress to both the animals and their owners.

While the cats do not appear to have been physically harmed, officers are concerned about the impact on their wellbeing. Inspector Matt Dickinson condemned the behaviour, stating: “This is completely unacceptable. These cats are beloved pets, and this is not a harmless prank – it needs to stop now.”

Police are urging affected pet owners to report incidents so they can build a clearer picture of what is happening. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward.
